The official Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo for PC is available now for everyone eagerly awaiting for it and the full game is not far behind it. The demo contains only two maps and two multiplayer gaming modes, Buy Xenical but that should be enough to get you started and for you to get a taste of the game, not to mention to test how your computer is handling with the game. The full Crysis 2 game is expected to be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, as well as for PC gamers on March 22 in North America and March 25 in Europe.

The Benchmark Result is from AMD Athlon II @ 2,6 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 5970, 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz, Windows 7 Professional system running Dirt 2 in 1680×1050 Resolution, Ultra Quality Preset, No Multisampling. The resulting framerate is 45,4 FPS Average (frames per second) which is quite low considering the video card being used, but it is normal considering that we are using DirectX 11 with all the additional details enabled…

Here is a split screen video of the game Dirt 2 done with a DirectX 9 (GeForce GTX 275) and DirectX 11 (Radeon HD 5970)… notice that the Benchmark is not the same on the left and on the right side. This is because there are a lot of different things changed in each run of the benchmark, so it is hard to get the exact same race repeated twice. Anyway, you can also notice that there is not much of a noticeable difference when using DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 renderer in the game… anyway take a closer look on the people around the track, the water on the road, the waving cloth and the shadows. how to get prescription drugs without a prescription Dirt 2 is just another disappointment after STALKER: Call of Pripyat. Colin McRae: Dirt 2 is also not the killer DirectX 11 game a lot of people are waiting for!

This is a video of a Benchmark run done with the demo of the game Dirt 2 on a high-end PC just to see what you can expect to get from the game running with high level of detail… The Benchmark Result is from Intel Core i5 750 @ 3,4 GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 275 (DirectX 9), 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz, Windows 7 Professional system running Dirt 2 in 1680×1050 Resolution, Ultra Quality Preset, No Multisampling. The results I got was 68,6 FPS Average (frames per second), which was quite good, and the game remains comfortably playable even with 8x multisampling enabled on the above PC configuration. The benchmark is done in DirectX 9 as the only other available mode in the game is DirectX 11 and currently I do not have an ATI 5xxx series video card that supports DX 11 to test with.

If you want to benchmark your PC you’ll need to download the Demo of the game Colin McRae: Dirt 2 from one of the following locations:
- Gamershell
- Strategy Informer

Then you need to install, run the game and configure in the Options menu the Graphics settings. At the bottom of the Graphic Options menu you can find an option to run the Benchmark, and after it finishes you’ll see the results, but this is not the only way to run it. Instead of doing that you can also quit the game after you setup the graphic options and then run the executable with some options to activate only the benchmark mode. In order to do that you need to run “DiRT 2.exe -benchmark example_benchmark.xml“. The file example_benchmark.xml contains some parameters on what to run in the benchmark, but does not contain the game config (you can find that in another xml file if you want to edit it manually instead of going inside the game to change the video settings!). Anyway, creating a shortcut with the following options to run the game in benchmark mode gives great results, but also has one minor drawback – after the benchmark run finishes (about 4 minutes in total) the results are not being displayed. To get the results in the form of average and minimum framerate you’ll need to open the “Documents / My Games / Dirt 2 Demo / benchmarks” folder on your PC and there you’ll find an XML file with a name like “DiRT2_Benchmark_17-34-12_on_02-12-2009.xml” for instance. Open it with a text viewer and inside you’ll find the results from the benchmark you you just finished running.

Anyway no matter what of the two methods you use to run the benchmark you are going to have some different results with each run… different cars for the opponents, different finishing place etc. which makes the benchmark demo closer to the real play of the game, but some of the die hard benchmark fans will say it is not very good for comparison purposes.

Here are videos from the four demos from the benchmark of the game STALKER: Call of Pripyat in split screen mode, running in DirectX 10 mode online pharmacy no prescription on the left and with DirectX 11 on the right. The right part with DX11 also has Tessellation and Contact Hardening Shadows enabled, but there is hardly any difference visible in the fast running flybys in the benchmark. Hell, even when playing not only STALKER, but any other fast paced FPS game you probably won’t notice much of a difference simply because you won’t have enough time to inspect at shadows of objects or to look your surroundings in detail. DirectX 11 should be offering faster performance, but with tessellation and CHS enabled actually there is a performance drop (with hardly any visible difference), as you can see in the results, compared with the game running in DX10. BTW the test system was equipped with Radeon HD 5970 video card and a quad core Intel Core i5 CPU, but still the benchmark (in Ultra quality mode and 1680×1050 resolution!) has some moments with framerate of about 30-40 frames per second. stal

Here is a side by side comparison of the benchmark mode in the game Batman Arkham Asylum regarding PhysX support. On the left is how things look without PhysX and on the right with PhysX on and set to High. By using PhysX you actually get quite more realistic atmosphere and more creepier too while retaining high enough framerate for comfortable play (if you have a fast Nvidia-based VGA or a second dedicated card only for PhysX calculations). But there is more and if you look closely you’ll notice that without PhysX you actually have some objects missing compared to when you have PhysX enabled! The videos were recorded on a machine equipped with GeForce GTX 275 VGA and AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE CPU.
